The mission of the Cageless Birds is to respond to the commission of Jesus and make disciples of all nations.
The Cageless Birds Collective
We are a non-profit ministry, small business, creative collective, and workplace made up of over 30 staff. One of the ways we respond to the commission of Jesus and make disciples of all nations is by creating resources to build up the body of Christ. These resources include YouTube videos, devotional books, podcasts, music, e-courses, and handcrafted artisan goods (ceramics, leather goods, and coffee roasting). We have spent years studying and pursuing our various creative crafts. Our goal is that the intentionality and beauty of God would be carried through our various creative expressions and departments.
As a non-profit ministry, every donation and purchase of goods from our Cageless Birds Shop supports and furthers our mission.
Our founders
Jonathan & Melissa Helser
Jonathan and Melissa Helser are lovers of Jesus and worship leaders who have pursued a multi-generational mission to see the love of God transform the Earth.
The Helsers have been writing and recording music for 20 years. Their longing is to see a generation encounter the heart of the Father. Jonathan and Melissa founded the Cageless Birds collective in 2013. They lead our collective and community as creative directors, discipleship pastors, managers, and visionaries. Jonathan and Melissa give the majority of their year to discipleship. They lead their 18 Inch Journey school of the heart, and host retreats and camps throughout the year with their 30+ staff. Their hearts burn to empower people to cultivate sustainable friendship with the Holy Spirit that will last their whole lives.
