Friends, we are overjoyed to share that we have completed our Audio Upgrade Campaign! Thanks to your generosity and financial support, we were able to overhaul the entire sound system on our campus, upgrading the tools that empower us to continue to grow in the way that we capture and share the sound of the Cageless Birds with the world. Your investment has filled us with courage for the season to come. We are eager to share new songs and worship moments from Jonathan & Melissa Helser and the Cageless Birds in 2024!
A Message from Jonathan & Melissa
As we close our sixteenth 18 Inch Journey discipleship season, we want to thank you for your financial support and for covering our community in prayer as we poured into the lives of people from all over the world. Looking ahead, it is our dream to host more students, high school campers, and adult retreat guests at A Place for the Heart—our campus in North Carolina.
We need your help and want to invite you to partner with the Cageless Birds. You can scroll below to see ways to support our ministry. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and a missional community that exists to raise up wholehearted disciples of Jesus of all ages. All donations to our ministry are tax-deductible and every gift of generosity makes a difference!

1. Give to our General Fund
Since 1986, our 52-acre campus, A Place for the Heart, was dedicated to be a place where people could come away from the busyness of life and encounter the heart of God. Every financial gift that you sow into our General Fund supports our everyday expenses—utilities, building and grounds maintenance, meals for our staff, tools and equipment for our creative departments, and more—and helps us to continue stewarding our beautiful campus.
2. Support a Staff
All of our missional staff rely on donations and support. Having a team of people who believe in what we do empowers us to continue giving our lives to loving people and teaching tools and practices to connect with God. Click below to meet our team and to financially partner with our staff.
3. Shop our Cageless Birds Online Store
We created our Cageless Birds Online Shop to share the overflow of our creative pursuits and financially support our ministry and missional staff. This includes our Cultivate devotional books, handcrafted leather goods, ceramics, music, Maker Coffee, and more.
